Indie Pop Rock & Alternative
One of the most interesting tracks from the vast "Malagutian Archive" (a repertoire of dozens and dozens of creative ideas), L'Inutilità is remixed in a progressive house style (with influences from Yotto, Adriatique, Artbat, among others). The remix takes listeners on a 7-minute journey, gradually building up to a break rich in atmospheric breath, with an intriguing mood, before exploding in full power.
The Project
Francesco Malaguti was born in 1993 in Bologna.
He developed a passion for music from a young age, and began studying guitar at the age of thirteen with Maestro Marco Montanari. After this period, he delved into the study of electronics and computer science, while also developing an interest in electronic music, despite his primary background in progressive rock. Feeling the need to release music under his own name and experiment with new sounds, after a decade of playing in various bands (mainly in the industrial genre), in 2015 he released his first DIY album, Parti, a long experimental concept album that opened the door to a series of albums under his personal project, which takes the same name, Parti, with each subsequent release.
The project is complex, but in summary, as depicted by artist Olivia Teglia on the cover of the first album, it is the Schrödinger’s Cat watching the Tower of Babel. It was during this time that he also composed the soundtrack for the theatrical performance Furore by Steinbeck, which was a finalist at the Venice Biennale.
From 2015 to 2019, Francesco Malaguti produced hundreds of tracks, many of which were unreleased, part of long concept albums spanning genres such as pop, electronics, singer-songwriter music, soundtracks, ambient music, industrial, rock, techno, and IDM, without imposing any boundaries or constraints. He focused especially on experimenting with musical structure and the deconstruction of commercial release formats.
In 2020, with Miraloop, he released his first professional EP, Odissea 1984, a suite of four tracks dedicated to the Mediterranean Sea. The EP reached #1 on the iTunes Top 100 Italy in the Alternative section and #4 on the iTunes Top 100 Italy All-Genres chart.
