Drawing inspiration from early '80s electropop, almost like an Orwellian reference, Delicata uses a vintage sound to transform into something ultramodern, both in form and content. It tells the story of today’s world with positivity but also sarcasm.
The lyrics, which race quickly under an unrelenting 90 bpm loop, encompass everything: artificial intelligences forcing the methodical to become more creative, abstract entities and brands that control everything, like the “master” of the music world who decides who makes it and who doesn't.
In this sort of Metropolis, Delicata is the song itself, because Gerolamo, in fact, "touches it lightly"—literally—creating an anthem for those who move forward on their own path, having fun, because, in the end, what really matters is how we feel.
And it is under this light that the dialogue with a "she" emerges, coinciding with the explosion of an irresistible chorus.
